I Love Techno Loves Goose

Slightly frazzled so a short note today, just back from I Love Techno festival in Gent, Belgium, where Goose rocked the aircraft hanger. Much neon and fluo in effect, very rowdy people on the way in, very quiet, confused people on the way out. Sweatiest Goose gig since Japan this summer and thanks to MSTRKRFT for picking Dave up and carrying him round the stage in some sort of Flanders / Canadian victory parade. If you've forgotten how good the band are live, those lovely iTunes people have put together a digital Goose live e.p. which you can find by going to www.itunes.com and searching for, er, 'Goose live ep', would you believe. I suppose I should do a quick competition as we haven't had one for while, have we? How about a promo 12" of the Goose remix of ShitDisco's I Love King Fu? Features the Goose remix obviously along with the original version and 2 other remixes. Yours for free, maybe, if you just mail me back and the gods of good fortune smile on you. This week I am mostly planning on seeing the band in Berlin. I've already done the 'Ich bin ein Frankfurter' headline so will try to come up with something else by Friday.

Lost in TV

Considering Goose have yet to play America it's strange how much of a Goosing the Americans have been getting. To date the band's music has been used in no less than 8 different TV shows like CSI and Shark, lord knows what the crowds will make of the gigs once the band takes their amazing live show over there! Big response to the Shitdisco 12" competition, most replies since we offered the Scissor Sisters remix out, you're obviously a bunch of vinyl junkies. The winner was Mr B from Paris. Can I just offer a few words of advice for people thinking of entering future competitions? I quite like my name being spelled correctly, offers of gifts to help me pick a winner are most welcome but I prefer more tangible stuff than 'cuddles' or 'much love', maybe next time try cash? Also, lady from Leuven, entering 10 times does not give you 10 chances to win, OK? The band are just back from Italy with the only full live band shows to come in Holland, Luxembourg and Switzerland this year. After that it is on with writing the next record with only the occasional DJ show to look forward to until the summer. Don't forget the live e.p. is up on iTunes now (except for those in the US, sorry about that) and there will be a remix e.p. coming out when I get it together. Also the footage of their Koko show last week should see the light of day online, I'll let you know when.

Happy new year

Happy new year to you all from Goose, hope 2008 shapes up well for you. 2007 certainly worked for Goose, over 100 shows from Scandinavia to Australasia, releases and remixes everywhere and you couldn't turn on an American TV show without a bit of Goose popping up. The band are now back in Kortrijk working on the next album, their only time off from that is to pop out for the occasional DJ set (check the website for details). Fingers crossed they will be back on the road in the summer so we will see you all then. In the meantime you can check out various bits of their recent storming DJ sets on YouTube, including some very blurry but exciting whoop whoops from the Radio Soulwax gig just before Christmas. And to banish the new year blues how about a quick competition? I have 2 Goose album art t shirts left in the office, one very small for petite ladies or beefy children, the other a medium which will fit me (about 5'10", not too fat, rugged, handsome, etc, etc), just mail me back for a chance to win and don't forget to say which size you want.

now happy February

Happy February everybody and congratulations to Lieve (Belgium) and Davide (Holland) on winning the Goose t shirts in the last mail out's competition. Some good Goose stuff on the web to keep you full of feathers while the band work on the new record. You can (finally) see the band on the TMF awards here but be quick as Viacom have a habit of pulling their footage down as we found out last year. Rest assured that this cracking footage of Mick & Bert's DJ set will be there for generations to come though: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=scZS2mn5Yms http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6_RvGzfEKbQ Also be sure the check the Goose myspace page out as there are some recent remixes just added www.myspace.com/goosemusic And finally congratulations to the band on having Bring It On used as the music for the new Mitsubishi campaign in the US of A. You can see the ad here: www.splendad.com/ads/show/1814-Mitsubishi-Lancer-Its-Go-Time The car looks great but mine seems to have been lost in the post.

cold, isn't it?

Considering the Goose boys aren't touring at the moment they have been surprisingly visible of late, winning best album and best live act on various awards shows as well as setting up their own Facebook page and continuing to take their hands in the air DJ set to the wider world (see this month's DJ magazine for details). For those of you looking to stock up on any bits of Goose releases you may have missed there is a quite extraordinary collection here, http://redeye.com.au Also, on the subject of Goose rarities, I have a very rare promotional copy of their music for the Nike advert which you, yes, YOU! could win if you just mail me back. Now. charlie@skint.net That's it for now, look forward to seeing some of you at the DJ sets in April, check the website for details.
